Message From A Member

(The following message was sent by a Smart-list member out to all of the other members. The member who had posted the message did so on his own accord and was not directed by Smart-list.com.)

Smart-list Members are special people. Please read.

Please read in entirety, this could be important to our list.

  Smart-List members truly are special people; I have been 
doing opt-in research for the past 4 months, belonging to 40 
opt-in lists and have been receiving 3000-5000 emails 
a day.  I discovered an amazing fact that I still find hard to 
believe, I checked and double checked. As of April 20 no member 
of Smart-List belonged to any of the opt-in list that I was using for
research! I was astounded.   Here are some facts about the 40 lists 
that I belong to:

       Total membership is over 9365, of this there are only 2065 individuals.
I receive as many as 35 same emails from the same person because of 
multiple memberships. 
       
       The ratio of members to individuals is 4.26 to 1. For every individual
who I can send my ad to I will receive 4.26 emails. 

       Some listservers offer the "no post" option which means I can mail to these 
40 opt-in lists and NOT receive any posts from them. If everyone opted for the
"no post",  NO ONE would ever see ANYONE else ad!!! Down right ridiculous.
    
       Smart-List is the ONLY viable list on the net. Smart-List may have started
out as only a name, but I have discovered that this name has a real meaning.
All it's members are Smarter then the average bear. John has formulated THE opt-in list 
and I would like to see it as The Master List some day. 
 
     When I send an ad I know that all the members will receive it. The daily
mailing are few enough that I have time to read the ads that I am unfamiliar
with. Sure, there are some ads that I will not open because I have read them
before and decided they were not for me.
 
     This results in quick and timely email management. No other list has this
benefit. We do not "spam". Spam in the legal sense is when you receive the
same message multiple times, this is a waste of Internet resources. This is what
happens with other opt-in lists. A crackdown on UCE and equating it with Spam
created the growth in OPT-in lists. Now we spam each other!
    
     I see Smart-List as an exclusive group of members who see the benefits in
time and resource savings, have a concern for others, are fair in there
dealing with others and are the elite of all networking entrepreneurs. Let us help
John make this The Master List of all opt-in lists.
     
     Let us get together and have Smart-List GROW.
